Passion for performance. It’s as simple as that. Its a relentless pursuit towards preparation and perform at the highest levels no matter what happens.
Sick. Doen’t matter.
Tired. Never.
Endless pursuit of WINNING requires a lot from you.
It requires you in in the best form of you in all areas of your life.
It requires sacrifice.
It requires patience.
It requires all of you and a commitment to be part of the uncommon.
What are you doing daily to win? Are you winning you first?
We talk about how the best in the world do it and what the commonalities are about those who become elite. We talk discipline, lessons, and life.
What’s the very next step that would make a difference for you?
Start with what fulfillment looks like.
I see this a lot with people I talk to daily. They struggle with leadership.
Two types of leadership
1. Leadership of yourself
2. Leadership of others in your life
One of the main things that changed my life was when I took managing myself seriously.
It’s not a small task. It requires patience and discipline to yourself.
Non Negotiables are important…Why?
These are things that you can control.
There’s a great quote that I want to share with you about this.
It’s about WINNING in general but really it’s about Winning the battle with yourself.
Tim Grover says this in his book WINNING that the most common thing he sees in the uncommon people his one word answer to WINNING:
It’s Performance
That really put some things into perspective for me.
Why…
The past and my performance as an athlete and how it transferred over into business
Whats the story?
If you look at some of the most uncommon people of our generation…Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan, The Dr. Dre, Jay Z, Lebron James, Michael Phelps, Jusain Bolt…
The amazing things about these guys was their work ethic and their focus on making sure that each and every time they were required, they performed at their highest levels.
All these guys are athletes but if you put yourself around titans of the business industry it’s the exact same thing.
They are focused on WINNING. When they’re hurt, they make adjustments, and then play out of their mind when put in competitive situations.
It’s the passion for performance that drives high achievers and the relentless approach to getting better no matter what the circumstances.
They don’t negotiate with themselves about what WINNING looks like in their head.
They understand they have a job to do and the go and execute more consistently because of their level of preparation.
And they get things done. It does not mean that failure and hard lessons aren’t felt along the way.
But there’s no quit. They never quit on themselves or their discipline to the game of life to perform at the highest levels.
This doesn’t just stop on the court or in the board room. They do the exact same thing when it comes to home life too.
That’s where pure fulfillment comes. Fulfillment of having harmony in your life but understand that no matter what you have a job to do.
